The derive struck me as an exercise that is intimately connected to our past experiences. When exploring the psychogeography of a place, I felt more like I was exploring my own mind and using the place as a canvas for the exercise. I think that where we were drawn to walk and explore in Providence was less a function of the place itself, but rather an exploration of our personal preferences that come from our life experiences.
Following this train of thought, I thought it would be fun to combine my past with our derive. To accomplish this, I made a series of image mosaics of pictures that we took on our derive constructed from pictures from my past.
