I figured that the best way to portrait myself wasn't through the use of words, paint or pencils but objects I use daily or that I emotionally hold on to, as well as how I present them. This "shadow box" (or Setzkasten in German) turned out to be ideal: useful for other purposes, mobile and changeable, little but dense, offering many different interpretations...
