Here are some pictures of my material alchemy project. Started out as a beer shirt -> beer bottle instrument structure -> self-playing beer bottle instrument structure.
This piece almost has a life of its own - it's almost like an intersection of Arthur Ganson's kinetic sculptures and Theo Ganson's life forms. The feelings and response it provokes from the viewer are also really cool. It's both fascinating and creepy - I feel like I'm in a Tim Burton movie when watching it. Maybe if you had more time to work on it you could center the playing piece so that all the bottles are tapped at some point - either by the sticks or even my other bottles. It's pretty incredibly as it is though. Awesome job!
dylan, i already told you how much i adore your piece. there was a poetic nature about it that wasn't there originally. i loved the sounds it produced. i also loved the chicken wire figure in the middle, it was almost like a ghost. awesome work! i'd love to see more projects like this.
